The Disability and Neurodiversity Alliance (DNA) of Southwestern Ontario (SWO) was created to build a community of individuals who identify as autistic, d/Deaf, disabled, mad, neurodivergent, and/or as having a chronic illness, disability, long-term condition, or mental illness. Or more simply put, anyone who does not identify as non disabled, though with this being an alliance they are welcome to join us as allies.
The Logo
Our Logo was designed by Adam Kearney using the Lexend font. A font which itself was designed to improve comprehension and retention by the reader. There are two versions of the logo, the regular logo was designed to be high contrast and easily legible. The second version of the logo is a doodle version which is a visual representation of what the Disability and Neurodiversity Alliance is about.
The D from the DNA logo features a double helix and a fracture line to symbolize the communities of congenital (born with) and acquired disability.
The N from the DNA logo features long straight lines that lead to a bend with a circle at its end to symbolize the circuitry of the mind. Which is the connection Neurodivergent folks share.
The A from the DNA logo features a hand holding on to the edge of the letter for support to symbolize the Alliance between all communities. (Disabled, Neurodivergent and Non Disabled/Neurodivergent)
